Go Fail

About 13 years ago I made the choice to do something VERY scary. Something waaaaaay outside my box. I questioned what people would think. I wondered what if I failed.

I was even a little queasy when I contemplated it. But I knew I wanted it. I tried talking myself out of it. Thought of everything that might go wrong. And then one day I put my foot down. I dug my heels in and I made the decision to just go for it.

And I did it.

I learned to ride a motorcycle. All by myself. Just me on the asphalt, on two wheels, as the world whizzed by me on both sides.

And it was exhilarating.

That feeling of accomplishment. That feeling of knowing I conquered my fear. It took practice to get better and better. I took a riding class to make sure I had a handle on the fundamentals and give myself the best possible chance for being successful.

It took work. It took courage.

And it was worth every nerve-wracking minute to get there.

Today I ride with 20,000+ miles now under my belt. And I think of all the memories I never would have enjoyed. The people I'd never had the opportunity to meet. The gratitude for freedom that I'd never have felt.

Fear is a thief. And it tried hard to keep me from all that. It tried to rob me of my joy. Starting a new business is pretty similar. You worry if it's a smart choice. You worry what people will think. You wonder if you have what it takes to be successful.

We look to the left and to the right comparing ourselves to others.

We assume we'll fail because they tried it and failed.

The best advice I ever gave myself? You have permission to try. You have permission to go for it. You have permission to be successful. You have permission to give it all you've got. You have permission to fail.

If you can't find the courage to give yourself permission yet, borrow mine. Dig your heels in...and just decide you're going for it. Don't look left or right. Look up.

I'm ready to go with you at whatever speed you're wanting to go. You can walk it or run it. Just do it. I have 3 very special spots of 1-1 mentoring and coaching to help you reach your goals and half off your kit to start to make it even less scary.

In our current age of social distancing, we have made it even easier for you to start and work the moment you say yes.

What is holding you back? Tell fear to take a hike. Let's ride...

~Health & grace,

Lynn
